Summer is here!!

It's been extremely hot in Arizona this May. We've been swimming for about 3 weeks now, and my girls absolutely love to swim. Taylor is getting to be a pretty good swimmer. She's starting to swim under water, not just doggy paddle. Macy is surprisingly brave. We had some friends come over to swim one day, and Macy just watched Taylor and her friend jump into the water, and then all of the sudden, Macy started jumping into the water herself (obviously with her floaties on). It's pretty amazing how brave she is. She's very comfortable in the water. She does like to drink the pool water here and there ... ugh ... but it's been a fun family activity for us.
Potty Training News:
I've kind of been introducing Macy to the potty, and this morning, we had our first potty training success! Yeah!! I'll spare you the details. In the evening, Macy went on the potty again! Obviously, it'll be a long process, but I was just super excited that she knows what she's suppose to do on the potty now. I've been dreading this process, since my Mom did the hard part of potty training with Taylor. If only my Mom could potty train Macy too!

More of Taylor and Macy

Macy no longer likes to sleep in her crib. She always starts off in the crib, and then ends up elsewhere. I found her on the floor the other day. Big girl Macy.
Taylor's tumbling class has come to an end. She had a lot of fun, and it was a nice break from her usual dance classes. I think she's going to try gymnastics next.

Here's little Macy, just sitting still and proudly watching her big sister in her tumbling performance. She's so cute!!
Taylor made this cute cowgirl outfit at school.

Family time at the MeKong Plaza

Tay, Macy & I met up with Cortney & Chuck & Jake & Sue at the new Asian plaza one night. I didn't know how much of a cultural shock it is for Americans to walk around an Asian plaza, but it definitely was for Chuck. LOL! We all ate dinner at a Taiwanese restaurant, and had a good time.

Utah Trip - part 2

After all the family events, my parents and Taylor, Macy & I spent some time together in Salt Lake. We spent a couple nights at 2 different hotels in downtown SLC, we ventured up to Park City on a rainy day, we hung out at the Gateway, where my girls just loved running around everywhere, we went on the trax (Tay loves any type of trains), we strolled along the Gallivan Center, we took the girls to the park, and of course, we went to Chuck-A-Rama, a family tradition in the Chan Family =) Taylor, Macy & I had a ton of fun, so thanks Mom & Dad!

Uncle & Aunt Ling prepared a "hot pot" dinner for us one night. Taylor loved hot pot, just like her Dad,and was just chowing down.

The girls at the hotel. The girls were getting ready for a swim.

Gong Gong & Tay at Park City. She loves umbrellas!

Chuck-A-Rama. Taylor was eating raspberries for the 1st time. I don't even know how it got all over her nose??

Po Po & Macy at the Gateway.

Utah Trip 2009

Here are some pictures of our recent trip to Utah. It was my Grandpa Ning's 90th birthday celebration. It was so much fun to spend time with family. My parents & Grandpa Ning drove up from Vancouver, B.C., cousin Paul flew in from Hong Kong, and of course Uncle Ning & family who live in Farmington and Uncle Ling & Family who live in West Jordan. Unfortunately, Maggie & Nate & Caden along with Ether & Melanie a Kaitlyn could not attend, and cousin Max. You guys were missed!

The cousins went out for dinner at that Brazilian restaurant at the Gateway.

Since a lot of our family and friends live in Utah, we tried to visit as many as them as we possibly could, along with attending family events. It was so much fun to see everybody.

We spent some time with Grandma Ginny at her house.
We bumped into Jerin & Wami & their boy Taisei at church on Easter Sunday.
We had dinner with Anita and my parents got to meet her husband, Jeff, at Costa Vida.

We got together with a bunch of Jer's friends (from high school) at Bubba & Lisa's house. They're always fun to get together with, and there's always so many kids around.
I got to visit Laney & Matt & see their new house in Sugarhouse. I hadn't seen Laney in years!!
