Playing Catch Up

Taylor did a fabulous job at her end of year pre-school program. She was so serious, it was adorable. She looked at Mrs. Axtell the whole time, spoke loudly and sang loudly. We're proud of her. Macy sat still on Jer's lap and proudly watched Taylor. We're excited for her to start Kindergarten next year. I am a little nervous about it being a full day, since I still have her taking naps right now. I love that she enjoys school.

Here's a picture of me and Macy in her baby blessing dress. I know, she's huge. Macy talks A LOT now. She actually enunciates pretty well. I hear Taylor teach Macy how to say various words all the time. Macy loves to sing. Her favorite songs are Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and The Wheels on the Bus. She totally does the actions. Little Macy is starting to enjoy nursery. The drop-off is still very traumatic and dramatic, but by pick-up time, she's a happy girl. Yay! She loves walking around in princess shoes and holding a purse. What a girlie girl. She loves barbie movies.

This is what I found Macy doing in her room one night. I just about died. She's so quick. Sometimes, when I need a minute to help Taylor, I put Macy in her room to have some quiet time. Well, unfortunately for me, I accidentally left the vaseline petroleum jelly on the floor, and she was busy moisturizing her face and hair. I bathed and washed her hair like 50 times for the next 3 days. Just in case you're wondering, try baby powder, and then use Dawn dish soap.

Since it's summer, we've been taking advantage of some free community kid events. We've been going to the Kids Club at the Superstition Springs Mall. Taylor was picked today to dance/sing on stage, so she really enjoyed that. Macy really enjoys watching Duper (the big bear). We've also been going to storytime at Barnes & Nobles, where they provide a craft & snacks. Good times. We've also been having random swim parties and just having playdates.

Waiting for the Tooth Fairy ...

At the ripe age of 4 1/2, Taylor lost her 1st tooth. Her bottom 2 teeth have been wiggly for a while now, but one of them was totally just dangling tonight, so with a little help from me, the tooth fell out. She's so excited for the tooth fairy to come tonight. I wonder what the tooth fairy will leave under her pillow ...

Summer is here!!

It's been extremely hot in Arizona this May. We've been swimming for about 3 weeks now, and my girls absolutely love to swim. Taylor is getting to be a pretty good swimmer. She's starting to swim under water, not just doggy paddle. Macy is surprisingly brave. We had some friends come over to swim one day, and Macy just watched Taylor and her friend jump into the water, and then all of the sudden, Macy started jumping into the water herself (obviously with her floaties on). It's pretty amazing how brave she is. She's very comfortable in the water. She does like to drink the pool water here and there ... ugh ... but it's been a fun family activity for us.
Potty Training News:
I've kind of been introducing Macy to the potty, and this morning, we had our first potty training success! Yeah!! I'll spare you the details. In the evening, Macy went on the potty again! Obviously, it'll be a long process, but I was just super excited that she knows what she's suppose to do on the potty now. I've been dreading this process, since my Mom did the hard part of potty training with Taylor. If only my Mom could potty train Macy too!

More of Taylor and Macy

Macy no longer likes to sleep in her crib. She always starts off in the crib, and then ends up elsewhere. I found her on the floor the other day. Big girl Macy.
Taylor's tumbling class has come to an end. She had a lot of fun, and it was a nice break from her usual dance classes. I think she's going to try gymnastics next.

Here's little Macy, just sitting still and proudly watching her big sister in her tumbling performance. She's so cute!!
Taylor made this cute cowgirl outfit at school.

Family time at the MeKong Plaza

Tay, Macy & I met up with Cortney & Chuck & Jake & Sue at the new Asian plaza one night. I didn't know how much of a cultural shock it is for Americans to walk around an Asian plaza, but it definitely was for Chuck. LOL! We all ate dinner at a Taiwanese restaurant, and had a good time.

Utah Trip - part 2

After all the family events, my parents and Taylor, Macy & I spent some time together in Salt Lake. We spent a couple nights at 2 different hotels in downtown SLC, we ventured up to Park City on a rainy day, we hung out at the Gateway, where my girls just loved running around everywhere, we went on the trax (Tay loves any type of trains), we strolled along the Gallivan Center, we took the girls to the park, and of course, we went to Chuck-A-Rama, a family tradition in the Chan Family =) Taylor, Macy & I had a ton of fun, so thanks Mom & Dad!

Uncle & Aunt Ling prepared a "hot pot" dinner for us one night. Taylor loved hot pot, just like her Dad,and was just chowing down.

The girls at the hotel. The girls were getting ready for a swim.

Gong Gong & Tay at Park City. She loves umbrellas!

Chuck-A-Rama. Taylor was eating raspberries for the 1st time. I don't even know how it got all over her nose??
